What is CrashDesigner? CrashDesigner-Bild.jpg

CrashDesigner is an easy software application for data acquisition purposes of crash tests. The CrashDesigner Client software is separated into two parts. The first part covers the following functions:

• Master data administration
• Sensor management
• Measurement device and measurement channel administration
• Measurement location database
• Test template administration
• Crash test administration
• Test setup export (XML and other formats)

The second part of the CrashDesigner Client Software is CrashDesigner plus.
This part is a separate module in CrashDesigner that allows the execution of tests.
It can also be used as a standalone application using XML files generated by
CrashDesigner containing the definition of the complete test.

• Read XML files generated by CrashDesigner
• Programming data acquisition systems
• Sensor ID verification
• Offset measurement and compensation
• Shunt check
• Trigger test
• Arming
• Status display
• Online data transmission and display
• Offline data readout and display
• Data conversion

Control Concept

CrashDesigner supports the crash test engineers and technicians to setup the data
acquisition part of crash tests. The major parts of the crash test setup are channel
lists which combine

• Sensors
• Measurement locations
• Data acquisition hardware channels
• Channel specific settings e.g. sampling rate

CrashDesigner reduces the efforts for the management of the channel lists to an
absolute minimum and offers a very large flexibility how to build the channel
lists.
Once the test setup including the complete channel list with additional
information is finished a pre-processor generates a XML test setup file which
contains all information to execute a test. This XML test setup is then used in the
test execution. During the test execution additional test results e.g. shunt values
etc. are added to the XML test setup. After the test is executed all measurement
data and the XML setup with test relevant data are available on the client
computer.
